Each day you bring me little dead birds
Mice or voles without heads
Now all of my cupboard doors are covered in bloodstains
And all of my floors they are smeared red
I know it's a sign of your love for me
And by now you should know I love you
But for the love of god please I don't want anymore
Entrails under my shoes
One morning you bought me a yellowhammer
And I became one of god's nails
It was as yet unharmed, but screeching and screaming
So I took the tiger by the tail
I took her outside, kept guard beside her
And stunned she sat there beside me
Until the yellowhammer came to her senses
And headed for the nearest tree
I think I must have offended you in some way
When I did what I did
You disappeared for 2 night and 2 days
And returned home to me with 4 kids
Now it's raining cats, it's raining kittens
It's raining in my head
It's raining, it's pouring, it's bucketing down
With all creatures great, small and dead
I still play the entire album on repeat. For me, this album has a unique and rare power. That being said, Touche Amore are simply an amazing band Yellow Hammer
